They do it as print on demand. This would put your book out there - there is enough interest in this poem to sell at least a few copies especially if you promoted it amongst the pre raph community.WoofWoofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14142792485921452481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1441164155286448763.post-54891569106281493522015-10-09T18:46:09.011+01:002015-10-09T18:46:09.011+01:00Yes I agree that the Lady was pre-Hallams death. I...Yes I agree that the Lady was pre-Hallams death. I think people have thought it might have been something to do with the creative/artistic process. The Lady is creating the tapestry but she has to see the world through a mirror and the price is isolation. The moment she rejoins the real world the creative process dies. (I think the Kraken Is a bit like that - comes to the surface and dies). Also, isn't the Lady often associated with Elaine (AT wrote a later poem about her), sometime lover of Lancelot. I read somewhere the theory that Guinevere got someone to put the curse on her in order to keep Lancelot to herself. However it does seem that Lancelot doesn't recognise het at the end (but maybe that's the kind of guy he was...). Just some quick thoughts - has anyone compared the original ending (1832) with the 1842 ending we know now. I think the revision is definitely an improvement "the well-fed wits at Camelot"! Waterhouse's paintings are wonderful. Hunt's is dreadful - too much detail, too much action, all those graeco roman wrestlers - probably one of the worst pre raph paintings (not as bad as his one of Jesus dancing around with his hands in the air!).WoofWoofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14142792485921452481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1441164155286448763.post-36184757243594239902015-07-16T00:59:36.241+01:002015-07-16T00:59:36.241+01:00I began writing a book about The Lady https://lean...I began writing a book about The Lady https://leanpub.com/tennysoncracked after seeing the painting in Birmingham but I didn't conclude that she was Hallam. I don't think the dates add up. I was beating my head against a wall of disinterest, so put my files away to work on something else. I thought I found Shalott. My treasure map is on the cover. It talks about infirm women and feminine death and all manner of related concepts in 19th century art and literature. It's a great read and very relevant to these kinds of images. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08708527875034816202noreply@blogger.com
