Gracias por tu blog, en el que he conocido muchas y buenas historias de los PRB. Recibe un fuerte abrazo desde Murcia. Mariano. Mariano M. I agree wholeheartedly with your comments - it is an amazingly enjoyable drama with a very carefully crafted script and some excellent acting. I did wonder about both the strange choice of title - why on earth would you call it 'the love school' and the incredibly dreary and dull signature tune. I was also surprised that they didn't make more of the lizzy catching a cold in the bath episode. I thought the portrayal of Morris was interesting with his violent temper and controlling ways. It was the first time that I came close to understanding why Jane found him so hard to love. I think it's a pity that Burne Jones was relegated to a few walk on appearances. Ideally there should have been an entire episode devoted to him - his deep, complex personality, colourful love life and amazing art surely merited it. On a side note, my wife was sure she had seen the millais actor elsewhere, so we had an imdb moment, and sure enough Peter Egan was 'Shrimpy', Lady Rose's dad in Downton Abbey! We all grow older... I agree with you that the quality of the art that they used is amazing. Regarding 'The awakening conscience', it's obvious that Hunt altered the painting and changed the face from Annie Miller to that of his wife. So the version we have now looks nothing like either the real Annie Miller or the actress they chose to play her. I think that might be why they decided to change the face to look like the actress. <br />WoofWoofhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14142792485921452481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1441164155286448763.post-24315814476823778492019-06-04T17:09:04.194+01:002019-06-04T17:09:04.194+01:00This sounds amazing so I decided to take a risk an...This sounds amazing so I decided to take a risk and ordered the dvd on amazon (I followed your recommendation and bought 'Dante's Inferno' on Prime Video a few months back. What a relief to have the art so well done. Also they filmed at Red House & Kelmscott which I bet you couldn't do now. Was so relieved on your behalf regarding the absence of nuts! Just now and again I did find it very serious and missed to some extent the mischief of Desperate Romantics. I agree well worth a look if you love the PRB & pretty accurate. I look forward to watching it again & seeing what I missed. Moyrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06995361991804810774noreply@blogger.com
