I always thought Morris to be a very passionate man with a lot of lust, just not for women.Kirsty Stonell Walkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08342964877965021654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1441164155286448763.post-37762834582280271872011-09-18T12:44:33.095+01:002011-09-18T12:44:33.095+01:00There is a quote from BJ saying he disliked the wh...There is a quote from BJ saying he disliked the whole idea of lust and I suspect like Morris didn't go in for it much. He did admire 'bad' women though - witness the way he drew Merlin (as himself) and Nimue. I was strangely thinking of TRex and the androgynous pop groups of the 70's.Hermeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00968366076064269729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1441164155286448763.post-72009925812084894912011-09-17T13:24:48.250+01:002011-09-17T13:24:48.250+01:00Me too...quite curious about it!!Me too...quite curious about it!!Gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01961174973796318673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1441164155286448763.post-64758519215715544552011-09-17T07:51:09.748+01:002011-09-17T07:51:09.748+01:00Maybe, Grace. I got a sense that he idolised the young, like many Victorians, and possibly saw the gain of weight to equate to losing innocence and that didn't mesh well with his fantasy land. I'm impressed that he managed to accomodate Fanny at all, as he has a very set aesthetic which is at odds to her normal image. I look forward to reading the new biography too... :)Kirsty Stonell Walkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08342964877965021654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1441164155286448763.post-35475752534633740012011-09-16T22:32:28.047+01:002011-09-16T22:32:28.047+01:00Enjoyed this as usual.I am in the middle of Fiona ...Enjoyed this as usual.I am in the middle of Fiona Mccarthy's new biography og Burne-Jones and it is a real feast.Perhaps it will throw some light on the matter. Perhaps that would also explain his changing opinion of Fanny somewhat?Gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01961174973796318673noreply@blogger.com
