Mists of Avalon had the first sympathetic depiction of Morgan Le Fay that I ever came across, as well as interesting depictions of Nimue AND Vivien, two separate characters.Raine Szramskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13466243462355471330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1441164155286448763.post-8481216329233989542011-07-13T16:05:42.581+01:002011-07-13T16:05:42.581+01:00I think there is a solid audience for an unhinged ...I think there is a solid audience for an unhinged woman in see-through clothes, rather than a complex, well-thought-out female protagonist with her boobs inside her blouse. In Excalibur, Morgana is pretty much off her rocker. Merlin's Morgan Le Fey (Helena Bonham-Carter) is also a raving lunatic (not quite Bellatrix crazy, but close). Perhaps an evil character is just more memorable on film?

Mists of Avalon's version of her is the only one I can recall in which she is a level-headed, strong, likable woman and one you'd not be afraid to dine with!Medieval Musehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04489571642135048568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1441164155286448763.post-84151522350614896722011-07-13T06:33:19.553+01:002011-07-13T06:33:19.553+01:00Great article!
